Workflow In Edgecam

Edgecam is changing the game! Program your parts in 5 steps!

– Step 1 – Start……………..- Step 2 – Setup
Load the Solid Model……….Add stock, fixtures and machine.

– Step 3 – Features………..- Step 4 – Manufacture
Find the Features……………Apply the machining strategies.

– Step 5 – NC Code
Simulate the machining and then generate the NC Code.

Step 1 – Start
Load the Solid Model
The solid model will be analysed to determine whether it best fits Milling or Turning. The part is placed in the correct orientation and a default datum set.
Component Setup allows a material to be chosen and the datum position to be reset if required.

Step 2 – Setup
Add stock, fixtures and machine.
Using the Toolbar options from left to right, add stock and fixtures to your model. Finally, select your machine tool and optionally select a toolkit.

Step 3 – Features
Find the Features.
Using the intuitive Feature Finder dialog, find holes, pockets and bosses.

Step 4 – Manufacture
Optimise the machining order and then apply the machining strategies.
Plan and optimise the order in which the features are to be machined.
Now apply the machining strategies.

Step 5 – NC Code
Simulate the machining and then generate the NC Code.
Select the Simulation option to verify the machining sequence and then generate the NC Code.
